Family policies
Photos of your child
We ask your written permission before we share any photo of your child, on this site, in newsletters or on social media, and you can change your answer at any time. We never put a child's name with a photo, and the photos on this site are examples until we replace them with our own.
Watching class and belt tests
Parents and family can watch any class from the bench by the window. Phones stay on silent. For a belt test, please stay seated and quiet and keep the flash off.
What to wear and bring
Come in a plain t-shirt and loose pants for the first class; we have uniforms to borrow that day. After joining, students wear a white uniform and belt. No jewelry, hair tied back, nails short, and shoes stay off the mat.
When to stay home
Please keep a student home with a fever or a stomach illness until they have been well for a full day. Tell the front desk by call or text and we'll set up a make-up. We ask for health details privately, once you enroll.
Drop-off and pickup
Children sign in at the front desk and stay in the dojo until a parent or a named adult comes in for them. We ask for ID from anyone we don't know. Teens may leave on their own only when a parent has told us so in writing.
Closures for weather and holidays
We close for school holidays and for ice or severe weather. When we close, we text every family by early afternoon and post it at the front desk.
Leaving the school
Enrollment runs month to month. Tell us in writing at least 30 days ahead.
